Training Courses and Shows...
Training courses are held regularly to encourage and help people with their poultry keeping. Held in our shop we can easily demonstrate the many choices available to poultry keepers including housing, equipment, treatments and the hens themselves.
We have been running our beginners courses now for several years, both at our farm and also at agricultural shows, and due to customer request we are now holding a follow on course entitled 'the perils of poultry'
Our courses are aimed at the domestic keeeper and by using the experiences we have gained in keeping poultry ourselves we can help and advice others, for more detials please see the course info below.

We are also members of the Small Farm Training Group, a group based in Sussex which provides courses and training in a wide range of agriculture and horticulture skills. Members are enthusiastic people who wish to know how to care for land, stock and equipment in an efficient and professional way. Introduction to Poultry Keeping Training...
Held on the 3rd Saturday of the month this course is aimed to introduce others to the pleasure of keeping chickens.
These courses are held in our barn so you can get to see and hold the chickens along with seeing examples of housing and associated equipment and feeds. Aimed at the beginner, the course will consider choosing the set up that best suits your needs, including chickens, housing and equipment, caring for and handling your chickens, dietary requirments and other needs. Predator, pest and disease control.
Courses begin at 9.30am and end around 1.30pm (you are welcome to stay later if you would like time to ask further questions).
Tea, coffee and home made cake are provided during a mid way break.
Warm clothes are recommended in cold weather although if its cold our log burner will be glowing!
The price per person is £25.00

NEW...The Perils of Poultry Training...
A course to discuss the perils but not to put you off! We get asked so many questions relating to poultry problems that we thought it was now time to offer a course.
We will cover the nasties, from fleas and lice to resparatory problems, worms and the dreaded red mite! All in the most pleasant and light hearted way possible, you will go home armed with knowlege of the most common poultry perils and so be prepared to help keep your hens healthy and happy.
The course will begin at 7.30pm and run until 10pm. Hot drinks and cake will be provided to lighten the mood, and on a cold winters eve the fire will be alight. The price per person is £25.00 Please phone if you would like any further information,

Places must be booked in advance, and confirmation will be issued prior to the date of training.
Please bring your confirmation with you when attending the course.
Children (under 16) are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
A 50% deposit is required, balance payable on arrival.
